Describe an item on which you spent more than expected.

o My parents were very strict during my school days so I never had the liberty to use a mobile or laptop until I was in college.

o So, after my first year of college, I realized that I will need a laptop so I conveyed the same to my parents.

o I thought they would never agree but somehow, they said they would buy me one when I return home during vacation.

o Initially I didn’t expect to spend much but when we went shopping and went through all the models, I ended up liking the one that was priced at 50,000 which was a big amount for my family.

o My parents told me to select carefully as it will be costly so I went back home surfed the net and gathered details but I still ended up buying that one as it was a decent one when it came to computer technology.

o Since this was my first time buying a laptop, I wasn’t aware of all the available brands so I surfed and came to know about some standard companies.

o Initially thought to buy of Samsung or Dell company but some of the reviews were horrible about them so I ended up going with HP Laptop - Pavillion DV6 model.

o It had a windows 7 professional model which during that time was one of the best it also had 500GB storage capacity 4GB ram and quipped with the latest technology.

o Camera wasn’t that good but on a laptop that is expected.

o I was more interested in the software I could run so having 4GB ram was more than enough to do that as I would have to prepare assignments and seminars on this laptop.

o Since my main aim was college work, I decided on a model that can do all and provide good entertainment as well and would allow me to play games too. And this was a perfect combination of that Hence I ended up buying this model.

o But I didn’t regret it as it has been 10 years but it is still up and running but I do feel that now I would have to replace the motherboard and few other things as it’s been so long since I bought it But I had a lot of fun with it.

o So, this was an item where I spent almost double the amount I initially thought to spend on it.
