o I am a shopaholic and I love to do shopping especially from street markets. Street Market in my city has a variety of products on display like food, clothes, appliances and gadgets.
o On top of that, street markets provide affordable products. Many famous cities are known for their street markets and their products.
o But this one time I had to buy dragon fruit from an open-air market and today I will talk about it.
o Around a year ago, my mom suddenly got weak and it got quite serious. So, our doctor came to a conclusion that it was due to excessive fasting and that her diet needs to be changed. My mother was not taking care of her health and diet. From that day I took care of her diet.
o I insisted our doctor, make a diet chart for my mother.
o He suggested many fruits and green vegetables especially Dragon fruit to her diet and made it a restricted diet and fasting was out of the question.
o I never went shopping for fruits and vegetables before so I had no idea what a dragon fruit was I went to our main open-air market in the central shopping area of our city but I was dumbfounded by looking at the sheer size of it so it took me a while to find the fruit section and finding dragon fruit was even tougher as it is costly and not many people consume it.
o So, I bought it finally after searching for a couple of hours and several other products which were suggested by the doctor.
o I was content because at first, I thought that it will not be available in my city, however, after I went to the market it was in stock. It’s a pink oval fruit with green scales.
o Inside, it has white flesh with tiny black seeds.
o Due to its strange appearance, it is known as Dragon fruit.
o This is rich in fibre and antioxidants. It contains a lot of vitamins and minerals.
o After adding it to her diet, the health of my mother improved. I was very glad to see the health benefits of this fruit. Now I regularly buy this fruit.
o So, this was the time when I bought something from a street market.
